At Shelby’s Pooch Parlour, I offer a range of professional grooming services to keep your dog looking fabulous and feeling their best. From full grooms and breed-specific trims to refreshing baths and deshedding treatments, I cater to all breeds and sizes. Whether it’s a quick tidy-up or a full makeover, every dog receives personalized care in a stress-free, one-on-one environment. Let me pamper your pup with the grooming they deserve!
My Full Groom service includes everything your pup needs to look their best. This head-to-tail treatment features a luxurious bath, blow-dry, full body cut of your choice, nail trimming, and any necessary touch-ups. It’s perfect for dogs who need a complete makeover or regular grooming to maintain their coat and hygiene.
I will need to be informed by the owner on how short and what style you would like your pet to be. If the groom needs to be shorter due to matting, I will call and inform you on what is best for your dog. Your pet’s health will always be my top priority!
I will use a three-step deshedding shampoo during the bath, followed by a detangling spray to help remove most of the undercoat during the drying process. Once the coat is completely dry, I will begin the brushing process (this applies to dogs with long double coats, and the approach may differ depending on coat length). After removing all undercoats and mats, I will proceed with the tidy-up. This includes shaving the paw pads, clipping the nails, scissoring around the paws to remove stray hair (grinch feet), trimming the feathers around the legs, and tidying up the skirt and pants. Please speak to me about how short you would like the pants to be.
For short-haired breeds (like Jack Russells), hand stripping is also included.
Different shampoos may be used depending on your dog’s coat condition. After the bath and drying process, I will brush out the coat and begin hygiene tidying, which includes shaving the fur from the paw pads, armpits, and pelvic area. To prevent irritation around the anal gland area, I will carefully use scissors to remove excess hair. A Bath and Tidy is a great way to keep your dog’s coat in good condition before a full groom.
I recommend keeping your dog in a grooming routine of every 5-6 weeks for a tidy-up, with a full groom at the 10-week mark. This can vary depending on the breed and coat type.
For your pet, I will use our Isle of Dogs Everyday Clarifying Shampoo and Magic Tails Conditioner to help moisturize the skin and hair follicles, prepping the coat for drying and brushing. Conditioner is not necessary for short-haired pets.
Every breed has its unique grooming needs, and my Breed-Specific Groom service is tailored to bring out the best in your dog’s natural look. Whether it’s a traditional style or a custom cut, I follow breed standards to ensure your dog’s coat and personality shine. From terriers to spaniels, I’ve got the expertise to groom your dog just right!
